Sherwin-Williams now wishes to make the rare and genuinely challenging first time appointment of a European Counsel responsible for establishing and heading up a legal function based at its operation in Bolton, Lancs. The position will report directly into the US based International Associate General Counsel who is a member of the 30 strong legal team. He/she will provide strategic and legal advice and guidance to all five product areas on a pan European basis and assist in its expansion and continuing success within Europe and the Middle East.
It is envisaged that the successful candidate will have trained and qualified in private practice
and will currently be working in house at a senior level. Applicants will have international corporate/commercial backgrounds and be capable of undertaking a broad range of work from the drafting and negotiation of complex high value commercial contracts to the provision of M&A advice.
Of prime importance is the ability and gravitas to influence and advise at all levels of seniority both internally and externally. A mature and robust approach is prerequisite alongside proven interpersonal skills necessary skills to establish, maintain and enhance relationships within the business. This position will require travel to Europe and the Middle East.
